Q&A: What would you do if you found out your spouse had put a GPS device in your vehicle?
Question by Munroe: What would you do if you discovered out your partner had place a GPS gadget in your car? I know someone (honestly, NOT me!) who has a spouse that cheated. This particular person bought a GPS device meant to retain track of pets, disguised it as a child’s toy, and stuck it below the seat of the spouse’s vehicle. There’s a site that exhibits exactly where the device is at any provided time, and this particular person utilizes it to preserve track of the spouse.
Would you ever do a thing like this? How would you react if you discovered out your spouse had tracked you in this way?

What are the legalities of tracking a vehicle with GPS?
Question by : What are the legalities of tracking a automobile with GPS? Scenario (please use your imagination):
I run a automobile dealership (privately owned – not one particular with a label stuck to it from a huge organization). For argument’s sake, let’s just call it “Rockin’ Rides”
What I want to know, is that if I, the owner of Rockin’ Rides either lease out a automobile, or give my comsumers with a loan for mentioned car, is it legal for me to place a GPS tracking device on the vehicle?
This would not be monitored 24/7 — it would ONLY be used in the circumstance that the individual at the other end of the lease or loan didn’t pay their bill enough occasions to warrant repossession. The device would be removed the moment their automobile is paid for in full or their lease is purchased out.
Technically, the vehicle is nonetheless mine so I figure I should be allowed to track my personal property, but at the same time I’d basically be tracking the person as nicely which is where the legal concerns come in.
Does anyone have any insight or probably genuine answers? If it assists, I reside on Ontario (Canada).
Thanks!

What is the best GPS Vehicle Tracking/ Theft Recovery System? (Please no Lojack or Teletrac- I’ve tried them)
Question by carnut13: What is the greatest GPS Car Tracking/ Theft Recovery Method? (Please no Lojack or Teletrac- I’ve attempted them) Does any person have any expertise, which are the most up-to-date following-market car theft recovery (tracking) systems that also get good reception and work on a convertible? The mounting of the antenna is particularly problematic on older (classic Mercedes) convertibles because the steel dash shields the antenna and other locations, either don’t offer adequate space or produce other problems.
I would like to be able to not only track the car on-line, but also by calling in to check for its present place (for instance, when I am parked in a parking garage in the mall, and so on.
I am not interested in LoJack or Teletrac as they do not function nicely. Also, I would like to be able to track the automobile myself through net.
My primary problems with the past systems that I have utilized is that they often did not work, particularly when the vehicle is close to an airport, within a garage or in other “dead zones”.
THANKS! Tom

In Ca is it legal for a finance co to secretly install a GPS tracking device on a clients vehicle & deny it?
Question by Summer1904: In Ca is it legal for a finance co to secretly install a GPS tracking device on a customers automobile & deny it? I reside in the state of Ca. & final week I financed a utilised vehicle from a mid-sized utilized auto lot. Eairler this evening they requested we bring the vehicle in for them to take a couple of pictures requested of them by the finance co. We didn’t make it there untill after the sun had set, and supplied to bring the auto back tomorrow when it was light out. They mentioned that wasnt necessary and requested the keys to move automobile to lower level of lot to “photograph” underneath the shop lights. Even though waiting for our auto and walking about the uppper sales lot to pass the time, my fiancie was ready to see our auto beneath and observed mechanic working uo beneath the dash for a solid 10-15 min. (no one was taking pictures). When we asked about the machanic we had been told he was taking pix, & when we asked if they were installing a GPS in our vehicle, we had been told “absolutly not”, Realizing that finance Co’s have been knowen to install tracking devices in automobiles sold to people with crumby credit (for repo purposes) i demanded a stright answer from the salesmen in regards to our vehicle. Following alot of talking in circles we lastly pulled a mainly TRUTHFULL answer out of the GM. And “Yes,-Indead” a GPS tracking device had been installed in our automobile. Is this legal? From the information i can find onlibne it appears that is legal, but laws chance from state to state, And if it is legal to secreatly track our each move (simply because we are concidered a “risk” with our quite less then perfect credit), and then to not disclose this info to us upon our request? Sounds Like a violation of individual privacy rights to me. Thank you for your answers, I’ll be waiting to read them.
