Question by FireBlade98:
Can LoJack in my auto be accessed by police whenever they want underneath the Patriot Act?
The Patriot Act has completed a lot more damage to out Constitutional rights to privacy and freedom than we comprehend. Privacy has to do with respect for citizens as properly. Just curious to know if any individual genuinely cares. Can we be tracked electronically by means of the LoJack (if installed) that came with the automobile at the whim of law enforcement. What is the possible for abuse of our cell phones (GPS) and devices that are supposed to be safeguarding our data? Are we having to pay for our personal electronic jail cells?

——————————————

Solution by Leslie S
Can? yes. Is? no

Nearby cops can’t. LoJack will not release the quantity of the locator so it can be activated with no a court order or, of course, if the automobiles VIN is entered into NCIC as stolen.

When the G would like to track you they install their very own system(s).
Last time I had a situation that involved the G and their locator method (back in the early 90′s) they got a much more exact location whenever they desired in seconds. I cannot picture how effective it is now
Lojack does not work the same way or as effectively.

The G guys installed their program(s) on targets vehicles in about two minutes with no the targets ever guessing that the stuff was in place.

——————————————

Question by Anthony:
With regards to the Arab that located the GPS device below his vehicle although it was getting a tune up….?
A handful of weeks ago a story broke out about an Arab american that took his auto in for an oil alter, and the mechanic discovered a unusual device that was attached to the underneath of his car. It turned out to be a GPS locator positioned there by the government to track his movements.
This triggered everybody to throw up their arms in anger, and started out in about the “large brother” conspiracy theories.
The dilemma I have is that no report I have study about this incident has ever stated why they had been tracking him in the initial location. He need to have triggered some type of investigation by undertaking something that was suspicious.
Does anybody have an concept as to why he was targeted?

——————————————

Answer by thegubmint
If I don’t forget appropriately, he was connected with a person on 1 of the watch lists. It really is not like the Feds just run all around placing locators on random Arab-searching people’s automobiles.

Answer by Maria
He had gone out of country to the Middle East and returned. This does raise flags, although he stated he is not a terrorists or agrees with terrorists against America.

——————————————
