I hear pet owners put chips in their canines/cats to be in a position to track them down in case they run away, and automobiles to recover from theft. Would it be viable to use this approach to shield against children running away from residence and to protect them from kidnappings or obtaining lost?

——————————————

Solution by Bivi_computer
You know, I am not confident if I am in favor or against that. But it would be a Excellent notion in Mexico. SO numerous men and women getting kidnap for $ 500!! It really is unbelievable.

Solution by Sweetharttt
I have heard of this kind of a bracelet/necklace staying supplied to protect kids that have been kidnapped. It traces to their area.

Answer by fzahradnik
You are asking about two distinct kinds of technological innovation. An embedded chip is an RFID gadget that consists of certain information about the pet, but is NOT a GPS device and can’t “track” an object remotely.

A GPS tracking device this kind of as Zoombak (link under) is ready to track a vehicle, children, pets remotely by way of a Web internet site or phone alerts.

Answer by dodge man
it possibly could have considering that it is a newer model,,some of the newer cars are coming out with them as regular equipment,,probably in a couple of years it will be a standard characteristic on even the cheaper vehicles,,most insurance firm,s offer you discounts for autos that have the systems on them,,excellent luck i hope this help,s.

Answer by Orthodox_Ted
Not from the factory.

If you purchased the auto used, the dealer or financing firm could have installed 1 such that they can remotely avoid the vehicle from beginning if payments aren’t made.

Question by john: Do All New Cellphones Have GPS chips in them for E911? Ok, I recognize that some phones have GPS navigation skills and I KNOW these have a GPS chip in them.

Question by john:
Do All New Cellphones Have GPS chips in them for E911?
Ok, I recognize that some phones have GPS navigation skills and I KNOW these have a GPS chip in them. But Somebody told me that ALL new cellphones have a GPS tracking chip in them (regardless of whether they say it or not) that is Only for E911, when emergency workers are trying to find a person in distress, and it has to be activated by them. And that it won’t operate for navigation and the user manuals dont mention it. Is this accurate?

Also, If somebody is in a auto accident in a ditch somewhere and they dial 911, they could have a GPS repair put on the phone range and trace the telephone that way even if the mobile phone doesnt really have a GPS chip in it?
So I’m genuinely confused now, who is right here?

——————————————

Answer by crischinn
Yes, they all do. Bummer, huh?

Answer by conradbraam
No. Funds tends to make the globe go about, there is no income in saving lives. Only in the films, you see it operates like this the GPS chip costs $ ten, now add that to a telephone that is no cost (subsidised) and cost say $ 50 to ship, and then multiply that by about 1000 million phones shipping from an anonymous telephone vendor, (yes you just chucked a billion dollars profit into the sea) not most likely. E911 provides the console with a pre-registered address and in the situation of a mobile your cell only, which has practically nothing to do with GPS. Understanding in which cell (or tower) you are attached gets emergency solutions to inside about 1 minute away from your genuine place only.

If someone compiles a checklist of phones with remotely accessible GPs stacks, I will compile a list of NEW phones with out them. These phones that have GPS developed in furthermore call for either an option or software loaded and GPRS or SMS to disclose your GPS co-ordinate. It is not a free call.

Answer by scooter456
I doubt it, GPS usually only operates if you have a clear view of the sky. Most of the time my cell phone is within a constructing wherever GPS doesnt work. A cell telephone can be tracked by the telephone firm depending on what base station(s) it is connected to, this has absolutely nothing to do with GPS though, just a approach referred to as triangulation. And im not even positive how willing the mobile phone organization is to do it. I was as soon as listening to some police communications exactly where they had been attempting to find out from the phone firm wherever a criminal was. The telephone organization only came back with what base station and what direction +/- 60 degrees, which is a quite useless piece of data and wouldnt truly assist in locating the handset. I think this is a bit of a phenomenon created by shows such as CSI.

——————————————

Answer by stu_the_kilted_scot
Only 2 methods to track a auto.
1 : Radio transmitter that is tracked by unique receivers that triangulate location. Such as those utilised in teh “tracker” program utilised to recover stolen (protected) automobiles in the UK

two: GPS locator built into automobile that if activated (if employed for theft protection) or continuously (such as for security van tracking) transmits a GPS location to nearest base station which forwards info to owner / tracking firm

Car’s in car “computer” cannot do it. It is genuinely only an engine management program,

Question by carnut13:
What is the greatest GPS Car Tracking/ Theft Recovery Method? (Please no Lojack or Teletrac- I’ve attempted them)
Does any person have any expertise, which are the most up-to-date following-market car theft recovery (tracking) systems that also get good reception and work on a convertible? The mounting of the antenna is particularly problematic on older (classic Mercedes) convertibles because the steel dash shields the antenna and other locations, either don’t offer adequate space or produce other problems.

I would like to be able to not only track the car on-line, but also by calling in to check for its present place (for instance, when I am parked in a parking garage in the mall, and so on.

I am not interested in LoJack or Teletrac as they do not function nicely. Also, I would like to be able to track the automobile myself through net.

My primary problems with the past systems that I have utilized is that they often did not work, particularly when the vehicle is close to an airport, within a garage or in other “dead zones”.

THANKS!
Tom

Answer by hmtcrxsir
CompuStar

Answer by cps
You can try some devices that parents can employed to track their teen drivers like spy matrix
