Question by ryuzog:
Why is it tougher for a GPS satellite to track a moving signal?
Is not it by itself moving at massive speeds? Reasonably speaking the speed of even a auto should not influence it.

——————————————

Answer by Desert Dust
GPS satellites do not track anything them selves. They only transmit a signal. And whilst they are moving at roughly 22,000 MPH, they are not moving relative to the earth. They are in a geosynchronous orbit, which means they are often in the precise same point over the earth. I have three GPS units and they do not seems to have any difficulties realizing where I am. If anything they seems to truly do better when they are moving.

Answer by classicsat
First, except for the WAAS transmission (whist transmits from a geostationary satellite), GPS satellites use a Medium Earth orbit, and are continuously moving in relation to the observer (or receiving antenna).

GPS satellites moving have no bearing on the observer. It is generally that by the time the receiver receives the signal and calculates the signal (even accounting for the physics of the satellite orbit, which is a big portion of the calculation), the receiver could merely have moved.
That said, the constructed in error may be greater than the motion of the vehicle.

Answer by wires
I wasn’t mindful that GPS location was a lot more difficult for a moving receiver than a stationary a single. As yet another answer points out, the satellites do not track the GPS unit. The GPS unit computes it really is place from the satellite signals. The GPS system was designed for moving objects, such as ground automobiles, aircraft, and missiles as nicely as infantry soldiers. Some of the move affordable GPS receivers may not do effectively when they are moving but I’ve by no means had any problem with any of mine.

——————————————

Answer by 12″ Dan
Why don’t you just turn off the tracking feature?
Every phone gives you the option of going incognito so it can’t be traced via GPS
