Question by sammye: Can you fool a Nextel GPS tracking phone? The boss added gps to the nextel phone I use at work, is there a way to fool or mask the location besides taking the battery out. If you are out of the phone service area can they still track you? I guess they can since they use satillites to gps you and cell towers for talk but can you fool the sats?

Question by twism: cell phone gps tracking question for all you networking gurus? how do i track my kids phones on the net without having to go through Verizon? They offer a service that is ridiculous because they tell your kids you are tracking them. So if my teenager knows this they will just shut off there phone or leave it at there friends house.

I don’t konw what type of cell phones you have. but depending on the cell phone, you can run a applicatoin on the phone that will allow you track users or in your case kids

Question by Joe B: Can you recommend a cell phone without GPS tracking capability, I don’t want the government knowing anything? They passed some act in 2005 that said 95% of cell phones must have GPS tracking. This means 5% do not, I want to find a phone in that 5%. I do not like the concept the government being able to track my where abouts whenever they feel like it, which they pretty much can do.
Anyone have any knowledge on American phone models that fall in that 5th percent?
Answer by CrystalAny cell phone that has a signal can be tracked, even if it’s not exactly intended to be used as GPS. Your phone has to use the cell towers to get a signal to call out.

My friend just had someone install some looping GPS tracking device without them knowing, they were able to see everything they were typing and calling and see exactly where they went by GPS. What is the program called and how do I uninstall it off her phone?
