Question by Rystah:
How can I tell if my parents are tracking my cell mobile phone utilizing GPS?
I’m 18 and do not want my dad tracking my cell cellphone with his GPS. I have a feeling he is tracking my brothers but I do not know about mine. I also needed to know if it was legal to track my cell cellphone without my consent if I am an adult?

——————————————

Answer by Nate2551
If he pays your bill, it is his mobile phone that he’s tracking so yes it is. You can usually buy your personal cellphone and pay your own bill and then there would be no way for your dad to track it. If you have nothing at all to hide, don’t be concerned about it, if you do – I would actually recommend the paying your very own way choice.

Answer by Mr. unknown
I believe it’s wrong. And to find out you could attempt to do the sneaky issue and appear through papers and mobile phone bills or you could inquire him if he does. If he does not addmit it then try to preserve on asking him until he cracks. And then you could put your telephone in a quite strange location and see if he comes or try out to develop a trap to lure him out.

Question by Kevy:
Can parents use GPS to track their young children and protect them from kidnappers?
I hear pet owners put chips in their canines/cats to be in a position to track them down in case they run away, and automobiles to recover from theft. Would it be viable to use this approach to shield against children running away from residence and to protect them from kidnappings or obtaining lost?

——————————————

Solution by Bivi_computer
You know, I am not confident if I am in favor or against that. But it would be a Excellent notion in Mexico. SO numerous men and women getting kidnap for $ 500!! It really is unbelievable.

Solution by Sweetharttt
I have heard of this kind of a bracelet/necklace staying supplied to protect kids that have been kidnapped. It traces to their area.

Answer by fzahradnik
You are asking about two distinct kinds of technological innovation. An embedded chip is an RFID gadget that consists of certain information about the pet, but is NOT a GPS device and can’t “track” an object remotely.

A GPS tracking device this kind of as Zoombak (link under) is ready to track a vehicle, children, pets remotely by way of a Web internet site or phone alerts.

Question by …:::princecess:::…:
I’m 18 and my parents just got divorced and my dad is stalking me with a GPS method…how can i quit him?
my rents are going by way of a messy divorce…and im currently living with my father…even although it is a living hell…i’m 18 and just graduated from high school and i’m a excellent kid…i do not go go out and drink or do drugs…but i am offered freedom at all…for the summer time i am driving my dads auto as extended as i buy gas…but he continues to call me a minumum of 15 times a day to ask exactly where i am and what im performing even although i tell him in which and when i go some in which…i did tell him i was going purchasing a number of towns over when i really left the state to go to my boyfriends home…he called and mentioned i needed to come back in state and return the vehicle beacause he had reported the car stolen in the town my boyfriend lives in…so he ought to a a gps tracking device on the car or mobile phone…my boyfriend looked beneath tho hood and couldnt uncover it…how do i find it and cease him…also he calls my friends and theier mothers and fathers and grandapertns looking for me all the time at like three in the am can i cease him
in two months when i do leave for school, which i may add i am having to pay for myself, since my parents aren’t giving me a dime, i will be living totally on my very own. i also have had two jobs because the age of fourteen…i do come home at a reasonable time…11 pm…and i do give him one particular check in contact a evening…but if i do move out and get my very own cell phone program and live at my bosses for the summer he can’t continue to harass me or track me with a gps gadget?
and the only thing my father is doing to support me is let me drive the vehicle…i pay the telephone bill, and my insurcance, the gas, my school education, he no longer buys food for the property, i get all my very own clothing, and i’m not some idiot teenager i know how challenging it is producing it on your own in the real globe…there are so a lot of points you will need to account for when you price range your way of life.

——————————————

Answer by Terry
Do not accept points from him. Do not drive his auto, don’t let him spend for something. Be independent, if you don’t want him to do this.

Answer by ∞infiniti∞
It is your dad’s vehicle. You live in his property. He supports you. He has guidelines. You have to obey them. He has all the rights to set the requirements for his household. If he would like to “stalk” you although you drive his car, he can do that.
If you do not like it, (you are an adult), move out, get a job, and assistance by yourself.

Answer by vic91106
1. Get your personal mobile phone account.
2. Is the automobile registered to him? If so, that offers him a great deal of manage.
3. Contact the police. If he truly reported the vehicle stolen (which it was not) that is called filing a false police report. Which is very illegal. I suspect he is bluffing. Call the police and tell them it is not stolen, you are his daughter and you were granted use of the car. The police will have a point or two to say to him which should cool his jets.
four. You are 18. You are an adult. Do not answer the telephone.
Living in someone’s residence DOES NOT mean you have to account to them for your movements. Period. The complete “My home My rules” crap is just that. Crap. There is no law against living your very own life and your father will have to get more than this truth.
five. MOVE OUT! This is the surest way to freedom. And you want NO ONE’S permission to do so!

Great luck!

——————————————

Question by limabeans♡piggy:
PARENTS use gps tech to track their youngsters?
recently, parents have been employing GPS engineering to track their kids. NO kidding, it is correct, like this a single dood or dad put a gps tracking device on his daughter’s auto and checked wherever she went such as a celebration. But one particular time this teenager said she’ll be going to her friend’s property to sleepover but she truly went to a night club and got killed right after midnight. that teen couldn’t have died if the parents had a gps tracking device on her car so they could select her up or something. So do you assume parents must be allowed to put gps tracking devices on their children?

——————————————

Answer by Sharisse F
As lengthy as my youngster lives in my home, I will do every thing I can to defend her very best interests, even if it means a GPS, studying her diary, and so on. i know that some will disagree w/ me but most youngsters/ teens does not have sufficient maturity to make key decisions w/o adult intervention.

Answer by love_ridden_85
absolutely… this is why some cell telephone company’s supply this . and my child’s vehicle will certainly have gps on it… i appear back at what i did at 16 and if factors just get worse over time i am terrified of what my youngster may place them self at threat with .

Answer by dil
this question is more abt human rights. My opinion is yes. parents do be concerned abt their young children and they want to know exactly where we stay what we do and so on. excellent old days they had a mobile to track their kids exactly where they are. who knows by the time goes this new GPS thing will come to the marketplace. i discover no harm undertaking so. but it does not imply that parents are obtaining too individual in to your life. could be following you marry they’ll get rid of the device from you…

——————————————

Question by Blueemrld10:
How would you really feel if you discovered out that your parent’s had been using your phone to track your movements (GPS)?
Would you care? would it be a privacy concern? When do kids get their privacy, at what age is it parenting vs spying? Has something like this occurred to you? This is a question for a school project so please leave your age with your answer.

——————————————

Answer by Lux
i’m 17 and i would be furious, its not even actually about the privacy, i dont care if they know where i am, i just hate getting treated like i’m automatically untrustworthy just due to the fact i’m a teen. i may well be only mildly annoyed if they told me about it but if i located out they were secretly tracking my movements i would be pissed

Answer by gonshan
I am 44 and I would say if it were me.. And I found out my parents had been maintaining track of my movements I would be glad. The way this globe is you by no means know. And also preserve in mind that they only do it trigger they love you extremely considerably and dont want something to transpire to you. I

Answer by creed
parent myself…the way I see it, if ya got nothing to hide, ya shouldn’t be worried if ya wanna hide one thing…ya wait till you’re moved out of your parents property, & hope they never ever uncover out…I assume ya gotta search @ this from a ‘safety’ problem rather than a ‘privacy issue’…since, in reality, THAT is the reason that parents would go the route of acquiring a GPS for their kids…really…cuz if it was a ‘privacy’ thing..the kid wouldn’t be allowed out (trouble-maker) & in re: to trust..it’s the other people over the kid when it comes to trust…cuz once more, if it was a trust problem with the kid…they wouldn’t be permitted out of the home…

——————————————

Question by forthefun_333:
Parents only…Is GPS tracking a excellent notion for teens?
Wouls you install a GPS tracking devise in your teens vehicle? They are straightforward and cheap to get now (about $ 60 for the least expensive ones). They can keep track of speed and text you if the driver leaves selected pre-set barriers.

Soooo….would you install one particular in your teens auto, or is this a lot more of a trust situation?

If you would install 1, would you inform them about it?
i consider that it would let the teen far more freedom, due to the fact parents would let them do much more stuff than standard because the parents can keep track of them if required.

——————————————

Answer by chik7896
In order for me to install 1 I would have to have a number of resons not to trust my child. She would have to have done some untrustworthy things in the past. If she has never given me a reason to not trust her, no I would not. Of course I wouldn’t tell them if I put it in the automobile.

Answer by tjnstlouismo
Do you feel a will need to check up on your youngster? if so, then there isn’t any trust present.

If this was my youngster, I wouldn’t react to something they haven’t done nevertheless. If you trust your kid sufficient to offer him a car, you really should trust him/her enough to not have to track them down.

Answer by tella stella
i think that i would speak to my teen and explain to them that you are thinking about this as an option, not only to make certain that they are staying out of difficulty, but in our crazy world right now it’s also a safety situation…i can’t count the quantity of missing folks that i have heard about on the news or men and women who get their vehicles stolen. you can also set up boundaries with your teen letting them know that you are not interested in monitoring these issues, they are just a precaution in situation they are ever essential. if you trust your teen and they are on the up and up, i consider they would feel it was a rather cool function.

——————————————

Question by Haru san:
Parents place a phone tracking device on my telephone, how do I take it off?
I just got a new telephone and its beneath my dads account instead of my moms. We have AT&T. My dad is really more than protective and doesnt trust me, idono why, I dont give him a cause not to trust me. Anyways, he’s always checking exactly where I am at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY and its very annoying. If I leave the home for more than an hour, he checks to see where I am and then calls and asks me why I’m there. If i devote the night at a close friends house, he checks at least each couple hours. Its annoying due to the fact I am 17 years old and he’s truly treating me like a youngster. I have by no means done anything sneaky, and I usually inform the truth about where Im going…it just annoys me that he always understands where i’m at and often even comes to choose me up if he doesnt “approve”. He doesnt know that I know he has me on GPS tracking.

Anyways my question is, how do I take off the tracking program? Without having to turn off the phone? Its hard to go on adventures with him understanding where I’m at and then popping up out of nowhere.

He’s not the type of person I can have a civilized conversation with about this, its his way, he is the adult, and I dont deserve respect. How do I get past the GPS tracking technique?
PLEASE Aid. Thank you

——————————————

Answer by Jbdelec
snap ur telephone in half

Answer by My idea
Leave it on.

Answer by Scott Lee
They tracking device is not a hardware. It’s a software meaning that the AT&T individuals are the ones
who INSTALLED it from the shop. So the only way to fix this is to go to the AT&T retailer and ask
them to turn it off.

You may have to have your parent’s consent or signature, so i recommend you go with your uncle or some thing.

hope this helped

——————————————

Answer by MadTurki
Definitely – we’re fortunate we’re in an era where their safety is increased like that.

If your kid is doing nothing wrong they have nothing to worry about.

At a certain point though the kid needs to be released and have more freedom without being tracked – imo 16ish!
