I’m 18 and do not want my father tracking my cell phone with his GPS. I have a feeling he is tracking my brothers but I do not know about mine. I also wanted to know if it was legal to track my cell phone without my consent if I am an adult?

I hear pet owners put chips in their dogs/cats to be able to track them down in case they run away, and automobiles to recover from theft. Would it be viable to use this method to protect against children running away from home and to protect them from kidnappings or getting lost?

my rents are going through a messy divorce…and im currently living with my father…even though it is a living hell…i’m 18 and just graduated from high school and i’m a good kid…i do not go go out and drink or do drugs…but i am given freedom at all…for the summer i am driving my fathers automobile as long as i purchase gas…but he continues to call me a minumum of 15 times a day to ask where i am and what im doing even though i tell him where and when i go some where…i did tell him i was going shopping a few towns over when i actually left the say to go to my boyfriends house…he called and stated i needed to come back in say and return the automobile beacause he had reported the automobile stolen in the town my boyfriend lives in…so he must a a gps tracking device on the automobile or phone…my boyfriend looked under tho hood and couldn;t find it…how do i find it and stop him…also he calls my friends and theier parents and grandapertns looking for me all the time at like 3 in the am can i stop him
in two months when i do leave for college, which i might add i am paying for myself, since my parents aren’t giving me a dime, i will be living absolutely on my own. i also have had two jobs since the age of fourteen…i do come home at a reasonable time…11 pm…and i do give him one check in call a night…but if i do move out and get my own cell phone plan and live at my bosses for the summer he cannot continue to harass me or track me with a gps device?
and the only thing my dad is doing to support me is let me drive the car…i pay the phone bill, and my insurcance, the gas, my college education, he no longer purchases food for the house, i purchase all my own clothing, and i’m not some idiot teenager i know how hard it is making it on your own in the real world…there are so many things you need to account for when you budget your lifestyle.

recently, parents have been using GPS technology to track their kids. NO kidding, it’s true, like this one dood or father put a gps tracking device on his daughter’s automobile and checked wherever she went such as a party. But one time this teenager stated she will be going to her friend’s home to sleepover but she actually went to a night club and got killed after midnight. that teen could not have died if the parents had a gps tracking device on her automobile so they could pick her up or something. So do you think parents should be granted to put gps tracking devices on their kids?

Wouls you install a GPS tracking devise in your teens car? They are simple and cheap to get now (about $60 for the cheapest ones). They can monitor speed and text you if the driver leaves certain pre-set barriers.
Soooo….would you install one in your teens car, or is this more of a trust issue?
If you would install one, would you tell them about it?
i think that it would grant the teen more freedom, because parents would let them do more stuff than normal because the parents can monitor them if needed.

I have sprint, I text, alot, my parents use the creepy gps thing to track me wherever I am. I do not want them seeing what I have texted, it’s my personal business. I was wondering if there was anyway I could read my on the web texts, and if my parents could… something doesnt seem right lately, I was speaking to one of my guy friends, and umm yeah, I dont really need my parents seeing that, and then this day my step-dad kept trying to look at my phone, and he mentioned one of the things I stated in the texts. I need a real answer and an explanation and a solution other than dont text innapropriate things. thanks,, please help mee! lol
oh and my writing is a tiny out of order, no i didnt know they could before I was texting my guy friend.
