Answer by Travis
GSM is the older mobile tracking technology that uses the phone’s special IMEI number to traingulate its location in the cell phone network. This was (and nevertheless is) one particular of the time-tested techniques for operators to find a lost or stolen cell mobile phone.

GPS is the newer tracking engineering present in smartphones like Android, Backberry & iPhone. It makes use of digtal maps (Google maps, Google Latitude) and compatible apps to pin-point a individual or phone’s area in genuine time.

I’ve heard that if you sign up for the 10 a month GPS plan with enhance mobile (and acquire one of their GPS enables phones) you can, for example, put the telephone in someone’s car (like a son’s/daughter’s) and track them live. What do ya’ll think? Critical answers only please.

——————————————

Answer by gino
Ya, you can track them, I believe you can do it all on the internet. You’re going to have to see the documentation that came with the mobile phone and/or speak to you are cell telephone carrier on exactly where the site is and what info you require to track them.

Answer by Jeffrey T
ummmmm is not that stalking?

Answer by Jake
if the increase program is going via verizon, then they can download the “Chaperone” plan from “Get it Now” then you can track the phone on the web via verizon for totally free. The cool thing is that the chaperone system is totally free to, which is excellent if your giving the mobile phone to a middle school child, and you want to check up on them.

Story for these interested

My wife and I got my mother-in-law (who’s nearly 70) a Virgin Mobile prepay phone for emergencies. Even so, when she somehow managed to get lost 1 day driving around we had a insanely difficult time attempting to find out where she was when she called for aid. At this point she had pulled more than, the auto wouldn’t start and it was dark out. She didn’t know what street she was on, let alone what town she was in or precisely how she got there.

end of story

I’m hunting to uncover out if there is a Virgin Mobile (prepay) telephone that has a GPS tracking function like each Sprint & Verizon so that if my mother-in-law gets lost and calls for aid we can get to her swiftly.

I’m looking to get a phone with GPS so I can track it if it gets stolen – I think if it has GPS I just need to install a tracking application or register it with GoogleEarth or something. Using GPS maps or to actually track using your phone usually costs money – my question is will it cost money to track my phone from my PC if it does get stolen? How does it work?
Cheers

Question by <3:
How to disable Gps tracking (verizon) without turning off my mobile service?
I want to disable the gps. I believe I am being tracked by my parents. I noticed by turning off the Mobile Network(Verizon) it disabled it. The down side on this is I don’t receive phone calls or texts. How can I turn off the gps and still receive phone calls and texts? There has to be some sort system fail and hack out there to change this.

——————————————

Answer by i wuve you
Weeeeelll I think that that’s totally bogus that your parents are tracking you. Talk about lack of trust! And first I would go to Verizon and talk to them about the whole GPS thing. CCause maybe you arent being tracked. And if you are then talk to your parents. Be like “Mom, Dad I understand you want to know where I am and stuff but don’t you think using a GPS is a little extreme? I mean you could always call or text…Right?” And then go to verizon and ask them how to turn it off. Cause im pretty sure there isn’t like a system fail hack…Good Luck!

——————————————
Actually this is a friends phone. She thinks her mom has a GPS tracking device on the phone. (She is 18) Is there any way to tell for sure if she does? How would someone be able to locate someone else with a mobile phone? Does it give you a map someplace that shows where a person is?

Answer by Tina G
Actually almost all new cell phones have the GPS capability. In order for her mom to be able to track her she would have to pay for the service. If her mom pays the bill and is the primary contact, it is highly possible. If your friend pays her own bills and her mom doesn’t have access, then her mom can not track her.

To find out for sure if the phone even has the locator, look it up here.

I’ve heard that if you sign up for the 10 a month GPS plan with boost mobile (and buy one of their GPS enables phones) you can, for example, put the phone in someone’s car (like a son’s/daughter’s) and track them live. What do ya’ll think? Serious answers only please.

Answer by gino
Ya, you can track them, I believe you can do it all online. You’re going to have to see the documentation that came with the phone and/or talk to you’re cell phone carrier on where the website is and what info you need to track them.
