Would you like to know exactly where to obtain a GPS Tracking System for your Car?
My youngsters are each in Higher College and I put a single in my older son’s vehicle. I feel it is the greatest issue! It offers me piece of mind when he is driving. He is a very good kid, but a couple of of his buddies have been racing. I am content to know my son is not, (at least in his vehicle)

Definitely – we’re fortunate we’re in an era where their safety is increased like that.

If your kid is doing nothing wrong they have nothing to worry about.

At a certain point though the kid needs to be released and have more freedom without being tracked – imo 16ish!

A GPS enabled mobile phone is not enough, you need to install cell phone tracking softwares first. You can find some good GPS tracking softwares here: http://cellphonetrackers.org

It’s well known that cell phones can be tracked because they have transponders in them. Can GPS devices also be tracked (not GPS phones but standard small GPS devices like the FastFind 210)?

Correction: I referred to the FastFind 210 which is a Personal Locator Beacon. With these units you want to be located! These may have a GPS unit installed to help with location.
I meant to refer to true GPS portable units like Garmin’s eTrex and GPSMAP.
Addition: I want to know when GPS units are on can they be tracked in any way: can their signals be tracked by any satellite, plane, military or police.

To be tracked, you need a connection to a network, where you can send your data.
It can be wi-fi or mobile wireless or even RF.
No network or transmitter – no tracking.

The phone company could identify what cell towers it was near, but that information is not made available to the public (and would be a terrible invasion of privacy if it was).
