Question by EP: WHAT IS THE LEGALITY OF GPS TRACKING ON EMPLOYEE CELL PHONES? Hello All,
Lately I have been suspecting some of my employee’s(drivers) of lying about their place and timing. I have additional GPS tracking on their firm cell phones via Sprint/Nextel. Am I obligated to tell them that I will be tracking them? I would prefer not telling them. I significantly rather have the potential to see what type of employees they genuinely are at heart. If they’re slacking now, they’ll sooner or later slack in 1 way or another. Becoming lazy, unprofessional and irresponsible is a characteristic that cannot be removed with GPS. General, I can not trust drivers with this sort of behavior, especially with high-worth cargo. Am I legally obligated to tell my employee’s I am tracking their each and every move for the duration of function hours?

Question by paul s: can a company fit tracking device to a car that the employee has taken ownership of by signing lease aggreemen the company have used a car scheme were we signed the lease agreement and have now told us that they are going to put gps tracking in them we have also found out if the company go bust we are responsible for the payments on the car so we think technically the vehicle is our own so they shouldnt be able to track it they are saying its to make us more productive and give customers better service its not bothered them for the last 30 yrs only now when we have signed the lease agreement
