I have a lot of feedback on the management functions of this radio:one. Boss BV9555 seven-Inch Double-DIN Motorized In-Dash Widescreen Touchscreen TFT Monitor/DVD/MP3/CD Combo ReceiverI’m pleased with Amazon buyer service but not with this BOSS. The initial unit has a blue line in the center of the screen at just 1 day to set up it on my Mazda. Right away I turn off the radio and turn it back seconds later to see if it already had passed the “dizziness” that gave him although playing MP3. . I produced the complaint to Amazon and they sent me a second unit, I was quite content that I received it and thought I could ultimately enjoy a very good songs right after so long, but to my shock when I was listening to MP3 files from USB memory the screen began to flash and got blank, despite the fact that you could hear the music but the screen was not doing work. The sensitivity of the touch display is quite poor. I purchased this unit lately, pondering it might be a good chance to have a excellent radio in my automobile and turned out to be a total disappointment. In basic the top quality of this team is really doubtful, since it does not possess a great software to manage it. . three. The sound controls are extremely basic. Then I place a video DVD, when I am enjoying a great present in my new radio the “dizziness” returned with a lot more force and this time it came out of the DVD menu and put in radio mode. The controls are challenging to realize and do not last long on the screen to plan something, instance Bass, Trebble, and so on. 2

I shipped the defective head unit back to Amazon and got a complete refund. This unit is garbage. Hopefully other people will have far better luck. This unit worked quite great for about 3 weeks, until finally a single day I tried to modify the song utilizing my touch screen, and the display went blank. I knew acquiring an inferior brand this kind of as “Boss” would be a gamble. The old saying “you get what you pay out for” is so correct. The audio continued to play, but i couldn’t see anything. The odds weren’t in my favor. . I just lately ordered a Pioneer unit to replace it. Thank God it broke prior to the refund deadline date

Preserve in mind these are the words of a expert. . Nonetheless, i took it to Finest Acquire to be installed and wahlaa. ITS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND Funds!!!!!!Boss BV9555 seven-Inch Double-DIN Motorized In-Dash Widescreen Touchscreen TFT Monitor/DVD/MP3/CD Combo Receiver. . I recieved this merchandise in a timely vogue. . DO NOT Acquire THIS Item. . no sound! The technition stated that it was a faulty merchandise and that Boss was a horrible brand and If it have been him he would not have purchased it at all. .

USERS REVIEWS:

One tiny line across the top rated shows what’s at the moment taking part in, on a gradually scrolling show. The tuner has slightly a lot more static than our old stereo off the exact same antenna, but the distinction isn’t fantastic. It’s obnoxious, but it’s not a large deal. This display is way too tiny to be specifically useful — you won’t be glancing at the dash to see the name of the recent song when you’re enjoying MP3s. While you play an MP3 supply, you see this menu display — and that’s it. The detachable faceplate comes with a minor material pouch with a drawstring — don’t expect it to offer you a lot protection past avoiding small scratches. The sound is much far better than our factory-put in stereo (in a Kia Sedona) — richer sound, deeper bass, but not distracting or distorting (all with the factory-put in speakers). Street noise isn’t bad, and the driver is very understandable. I haven’t watched any video on the screen, as I didn’t want to tear every little thing apart to figure out how to hook it up to the parking brake. I also appreciate the dial volume knob, and that several of the controls have tough buttons as properly as touchscreen equivalents. This had all the attributes we were searching for — Bluetooth connectivity without a separate microphone to set up, detachable faceplate, DVD support, SD help, USB and external audio input on the faceplate. All in all, quite sound. Sounds fantastic, seems awful. . The touchscreen excels on the tuner setting — a great show that exhibits time, radio station, and your existing preset settings (each and every preset exhibits the frequency linked with it). This does point out a single other irritating feature if you never hook up the park brake (or use it with the park brake disengaged) — changing to something other than tuner pops up an ugly blue display with a message warning about watching video although you drive, which stays up for numerous seconds. MP3″, then you will possibly see one thing like this in the directory listing: “01-01-F” — the initial 1 is the method telling you it is the first song on the checklist, and then you get about four-six characters of the filename itself. 1 Dolby or DTS or something fancy. Because the screen is broken up left-and-appropriate, the width of every area is much less than half the complete width of the show — which indicates if your MP3 files are named one thing like “01-First Song on the CD. In which items break down a tiny is when you place in an MP3 source (CD/DVD or SD card — I haven’t attempted USB yet but I assume it’s the very same). They’d have been far better off displaying fewer directories and files on the display at once, and letting them take the full width to display far more of the names. That helps make finding the appropriate song on a directory listing fairly difficult. I’d think about acquiring an additional, if my other van’s dash had a double-DIN slot (at one. The bluetooth connection functions effectively for handsfree telephone calls, and the audio on it is surprisingly good for a condenser mike built into a faceplate — not wonderful, but for speaking although driving it’s pretty great. 5-DIN, this just isn’t an option). The MP3 metadata only displays for what’s taking part in, not for the file listings. Whilst it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some substantial-end stereos have (it doesn’t detect and show the station call letters), it does fine. Oh nicely, it performs. Even if you put in an audio CD, you may see the warning prior to you get to a menu display. If you do place in a DVD, you can still listen to it even although the video won’t display if you have not hooked it up to the park brake or if you have and the brake is not set — if you have a music video DVD, this might be valuable, though the sound is only stereo and not 5. The display is split into 3 sections. I didn’t hear any echo when I talked to my wife, and my voice was coming out the automobile speakers and hers was coming via the mike on the faceplate. Blech. The left half of the display shows the directory listing, and the correct half exhibits the filenames for the current directory. Good sound and an wonderful set of features makes the flaws sufferable, and it looks great in the dash (possibly I’ll add photos later — comment if you want some)

Let us see – the installation was a snap. It’s a bit slow to “read” your USB/SD data – excellent twenty seconds just before you get your music bumping. The radio, cd player, and bluetooth screens are plain but not badly created. Pairing with bluetooth is effortless and quick. For instance, when you hang up the bluetooth, or switch the unit back on, it will keep in mind which song you had been on. Plus it really is not as flashy so hopefully no a single will be tempted to jack me. The sound quality is a minor far better than expected (better than my component-out OEM Bose head unit) which can make me glad I did not go with a no-title brand. . I should have acknowledged this because it has a detachable encounter. All I can say is that I am satisfied with the obtain. I wasn’t expecting significantly! All the characteristics I wanted have been there, so I figured someplace there had to be some corners lower. And once more, for the cost, it just works. I feel that is about all I have to add. As far as I can inform, for 5 this is the best unit on Amazon if you happen to be trying to get the most attributes per dollar. I was a tiny nervous that all the features wouldn’t perform well – but they do. . The GUI is useable and wasn’t as dumb as I believed it would be. I was actually most disappointed that the unit did not mount flush. Considering about it now, I really never play CDs at all any longer – maybe a unit with a greater screen that would mount flush would have been a greater choice, but the buttons you can truly touch and really feel are far much better (and safer) for when you are driving – especially with the way I drive. Direct, vibrant sunlight on the screen will render it 75% invisible – not sure if a more costly unit would act this way? On specific modes, like radio, you can turn the screen off – so it really is not so vibrant at night. The SD/USB mode even so is straight ugly, seems like a 80s DOS program’s try at iTunes, but it gets the work accomplished. Well, going into this acquire I knew you would get what you pay for.

Also, the plastic bezel would not match either due to the size of the opening in my console. ) I have a 4 GB SD card that I have used on numerous occasions and it operates just like it says. All in all this was a great acquire. If you hook up the “Parking Brake” wire to a ground, you won’t see that message – and the side advantage is that you can now view a DVD regardless of regardless of whether the auto is moving or not. Typically that is how prolonged the CD takes to load, and if the volume was loud you can’t turn it down right up until you are out of reverse. So if you own a 2003 Nissan Frontier, be prepared for individuals gotchas. I was truly not hunting for a DVD player, but this was the most affordable double-DIN receiver I could find with Bluetooth. I would advise this to any person looking for an inexpensive improve to their factory stereo!. When the SD card is enjoying, you get a screen that shows the directory on the left, and the files in the currently picked folder on the correct. I have a BOSS 8″ powered AMP linked to this with some nice Polk Audio component speakers and the transformation of my motor vehicle is remarkable. My only other gripe is that I had to re-engineer the mounting method for my car. I purchased this merchandise even although there were number of critiques accessible on the web. The font is variety of modest, so keep your reading glasses useful if you never have twenty/20. 1st off, it takes a although to load up a CD (or the SD card). I put in a back-up digital camera and wired it to the reverse light. No clock, and so forth. When you insert a disc (CD or DVD), a message comes up on a blue screen that tells you to not watch a movie with the automobile in motion. The power output is wonderful and an AMP is not needed unless of course you are operating a SUB. Now for a couple of tricks: one. Although I adore the receiver, there are a number of items you should know ahead of time, and I will list a couple of tricks that may make it a lot more fulfilling. All the other attributes work as advertised. 2. Positive enough, when you place the automobile in reverse the camera automatically comes up. When the CD is taking part in, the BOSS splash screen is up and all that you see is the track number and the elapsed time for that track. I have begun to use the IR remote much more than I however I would – some of the features are faster to make take place on the remote than on the limited buttons on the receiver. Nevertheless, you can’t adjust the audio of whatever you were listening to ahead of you went in reverse. The DVD show is quite great, although I haven’t employed it since my original check – I do not advocate driving down the street with a movie playing. I have used everything brief of a USB drive and streaming media from my cellphone (due to my cellphone not supporting that feature

USERS REVIEWS:

Completely every thing is blue. Even so, it is unacceptable for Clarion to advertise this optional mic if it does NOT function with the unit. I’m looking into a competing item (X930BT, NT3HDT, DDX series) and will by no means contemplate Clarion once again. Why ought to I have to spend for shipping and send a part back if it really is 6 days old?4) Right here and there, the iPod jitters and has a 1/two second lag. For a retail price tag of ,000, I must be able to alter the color to match my dash. Clarion technical help said that “they are functioning on it” but it is “a problem with the Sirius tuner” and a software update “possibly won’t fix it. 3) My navigation antenna broke after six days. I am now packing it for a return. It would seem like Clarion received to a beta stage and just rushed it to release. I can’t, even so, deal with the issues. ” This is a key inconvenience. It is most absolutely a software error. I just bought this headunit from Amazon 7 days ago. When the unit boots, the LEDs turn red so they actually used multi-colour LEDs but did not give us the selection of shifting them. You can only change the supply wallpaper which you are never ever on. You can’t change the splash display. I have tried 3 iPod cable and yet another iPod with no results. This was confirmed by Clarion’s technical support themselves. six) Dimming functions fine, but you can’t dim the buttons. What were they considering? I spent hours attempting to figure out how to get it to work all to locate out that they lied in the product description! The inner BT mic picks up also considerably street noise on the highway and is unusable. At night the bright blue buttons are distracting and strains your eyes. I absolute adore the interface, scrolling/swipe, and features. Clarion made available to substitute it (if I paid shipping) but this was my last straw and I decided to return the headunit. This has been reported on other evaluations. I pulled the cord out and it was not pinched or damaged in any way. Minor troubles:It takes 4-five clicks to adjust the subwoofer level. . Also, if you import a wallpaper and decide on a default wallpaper, you immediately drop you imported wallpaper permanently. I called Clarion and they said no update is planned–Blue is here to keep. This is dangerous if you want to turn it down for a bass-intensive song while driving. In addition, you Can’t change the wallpaper for iPod, Sirius, BT, and so forth. This is a significant inconvenience. two) If you do not shut off the unit while on Sirius, then Sirius will NOT work when you turn on your unit (most of the time). The gentleman on the telephone said that an engineer is making a hardware modify to repair the situation. Nav is slow to commence (music begins extremely quickly)The previous model, the NX500, has no firmware updates so I doubt Clarion will repair these problems with their new model. PROSGorgeous interfaceSwiping / Scrolling is seamlessiPhone like usabilityComes with Sirius, BT, Nav, and iPod cables !CONSMy troubles are:one) The Clarion advertised RCB199 external microphone does NOT work with the unit. You have to hold the energy button down and reset the unit to reset Sirius. It disrupts the song. five) This headunit is BLUE. That is how disgusted I am with all of these problems

Attached to my stick shift, But the remote won’t do that. I have reset defaults, disconnected the power to consider and reset no go. . And I am unable to create a new backup and the nav function stops working once again. i was out making use of the technique it was finding all the spots i required to gobut on my 3rd cease of the day following i started my vehicle the nav software loaded, askedme for the language preference and when i selected English it proceeded to bootthen hung and rebooted the total radio. I am going to try formatting the chip to exfat and attempt a diverse stick possibly I got a undesirable 1 (I have 2)Other problems. up to date, reboot issues have been due to two defective usb keys, they have been replaced with a various brand and no issues. It sounds fantastic has all the possibilities i desired the navigationfeatures and speed alerts come in handy, I’ve had it installed for three weeks and Just reallygot utilized to the menus. On power up the head unit misreads the usb drive contents and shows it as blank. The random function only plays the files in the existing folder randomly so unless of course you lump all your tracks in a single folder you have to navigate to other albums manually As other customers have noted navigating the menus whilst driving to pick songs is somewhat buggy and takes a bit of practice, it would have been wonderful if the remote up down and left proper toggles could navigate the folders. Almost everything elsestill works only the navigation wont load. The radio and navigation has worked flawlessly because then as extended as I did not try out to apply the updated map pack. I employed to do that with my prior clarion radio and the wireless wheel remote. Would have gotten five stars except nowadays the navigation functionwont load. I adore this head unit. UpdateRestoring the unique micro sd programing from the backup I created resolved the dilemma. This unit looks to be quite sensitive to usb thumb memory as properly. overall im really joyful with the unit, if just nonetheless wants a bit of refinement. It functions fine with the 16gb chip disconnected or employing my 8gb or 2gb lextor. Resulting in acquiring to turn it off or decide on a different supply then reselect usb audio to reset the file lists. I am restoring my memory chip (manufactured a backup)hopefully it really is just the chip (windows reported an problem when i plugged it in) if thatdose not perform i will be calling clarion and square trade to see what’s up. Each and every time I attempted updating the micro sd chip file technique becomes corrupt. Originally posted on crutchfield but they will not allow me edit it or update my comments. interface troubles nonetheless stay right after updating all firmware to latest versions. It has been about four weeks since I resolved the navigation situation and after switching from a 8gb mushkin usb (exfat) thumb drive to a larger 16gb centon (fat32) information stick pro the unit reboots every six or 7 min min

The NX501 has been installed now for 3 weeks. It was really worth each and every penny even even though I only budgeted 0 initially for the head unit. Bluetooth for the two audio and mobile phone are very clear and syncing is really simple. . I’m using the GPS, HDTuner and External Mic. I’m streaming Pandora from my BlackBerry and also have a USB drive in the glove box loaded with 4 GB of audio. Configuration of the settings was very straight forward. . . There are two issues that I am functioning on: 1) Nav audio would seem muted even though the audio setting is turned up all the way and 2) The head unit dimmer does not appear to integrate with my truck even however there is a wire for dimming. Installation took about 3 hrs in my 2008 Tacoma. I also installed the Steering Wheel Controls and a SW Relay. Audio is clear, it switches among features seamlessly and the touch screen is extremely practical
