USERS REVIEWS:

Completely every thing is blue. Even so, it is unacceptable for Clarion to advertise this optional mic if it does NOT function with the unit. I’m looking into a competing item (X930BT, NT3HDT, DDX series) and will by no means contemplate Clarion once again. Why ought to I have to spend for shipping and send a part back if it really is 6 days old?4) Right here and there, the iPod jitters and has a 1/two second lag. For a retail price tag of ,000, I must be able to alter the color to match my dash. Clarion technical help said that “they are functioning on it” but it is “a problem with the Sirius tuner” and a software update “possibly won’t fix it. 3) My navigation antenna broke after six days. I am now packing it for a return. It would seem like Clarion received to a beta stage and just rushed it to release. I can’t, even so, deal with the issues. ” This is a key inconvenience. It is most absolutely a software error. I just bought this headunit from Amazon 7 days ago. When the unit boots, the LEDs turn red so they actually used multi-colour LEDs but did not give us the selection of shifting them. You can only change the supply wallpaper which you are never ever on. You can’t change the splash display. I have tried 3 iPod cable and yet another iPod with no results. This was confirmed by Clarion’s technical support themselves. six) Dimming functions fine, but you can’t dim the buttons. What were they considering? I spent hours attempting to figure out how to get it to work all to locate out that they lied in the product description! The inner BT mic picks up also considerably street noise on the highway and is unusable. At night the bright blue buttons are distracting and strains your eyes. I absolute adore the interface, scrolling/swipe, and features. Clarion made available to substitute it (if I paid shipping) but this was my last straw and I decided to return the headunit. This has been reported on other evaluations. I pulled the cord out and it was not pinched or damaged in any way. Minor troubles:It takes 4-five clicks to adjust the subwoofer level. . Also, if you import a wallpaper and decide on a default wallpaper, you immediately drop you imported wallpaper permanently. I called Clarion and they said no update is planned–Blue is here to keep. This is dangerous if you want to turn it down for a bass-intensive song while driving. In addition, you Can’t change the wallpaper for iPod, Sirius, BT, and so forth. This is a significant inconvenience. two) If you do not shut off the unit while on Sirius, then Sirius will NOT work when you turn on your unit (most of the time). The gentleman on the telephone said that an engineer is making a hardware modify to repair the situation. Nav is slow to commence (music begins extremely quickly)The previous model, the NX500, has no firmware updates so I doubt Clarion will repair these problems with their new model. PROSGorgeous interfaceSwiping / Scrolling is seamlessiPhone like usabilityComes with Sirius, BT, Nav, and iPod cables !CONSMy troubles are:one) The Clarion advertised RCB199 external microphone does NOT work with the unit. You have to hold the energy button down and reset the unit to reset Sirius. It disrupts the song. five) This headunit is BLUE. That is how disgusted I am with all of these problems

Attached to my stick shift, But the remote won’t do that. I have reset defaults, disconnected the power to consider and reset no go. . And I am unable to create a new backup and the nav function stops working once again. i was out making use of the technique it was finding all the spots i required to gobut on my 3rd cease of the day following i started my vehicle the nav software loaded, askedme for the language preference and when i selected English it proceeded to bootthen hung and rebooted the total radio. I am going to try formatting the chip to exfat and attempt a diverse stick possibly I got a undesirable 1 (I have 2)Other problems. up to date, reboot issues have been due to two defective usb keys, they have been replaced with a various brand and no issues. It sounds fantastic has all the possibilities i desired the navigationfeatures and speed alerts come in handy, I’ve had it installed for three weeks and Just reallygot utilized to the menus. On power up the head unit misreads the usb drive contents and shows it as blank. The random function only plays the files in the existing folder randomly so unless of course you lump all your tracks in a single folder you have to navigate to other albums manually As other customers have noted navigating the menus whilst driving to pick songs is somewhat buggy and takes a bit of practice, it would have been wonderful if the remote up down and left proper toggles could navigate the folders. Almost everything elsestill works only the navigation wont load. The radio and navigation has worked flawlessly because then as extended as I did not try out to apply the updated map pack. I employed to do that with my prior clarion radio and the wireless wheel remote. Would have gotten five stars except nowadays the navigation functionwont load. I adore this head unit. UpdateRestoring the unique micro sd programing from the backup I created resolved the dilemma. This unit looks to be quite sensitive to usb thumb memory as properly. overall im really joyful with the unit, if just nonetheless wants a bit of refinement. It functions fine with the 16gb chip disconnected or employing my 8gb or 2gb lextor. Resulting in acquiring to turn it off or decide on a different supply then reselect usb audio to reset the file lists. I am restoring my memory chip (manufactured a backup)hopefully it really is just the chip (windows reported an problem when i plugged it in) if thatdose not perform i will be calling clarion and square trade to see what’s up. Each and every time I attempted updating the micro sd chip file technique becomes corrupt. Originally posted on crutchfield but they will not allow me edit it or update my comments. interface troubles nonetheless stay right after updating all firmware to latest versions. It has been about four weeks since I resolved the navigation situation and after switching from a 8gb mushkin usb (exfat) thumb drive to a larger 16gb centon (fat32) information stick pro the unit reboots every six or 7 min min

The NX501 has been installed now for 3 weeks. It was really worth each and every penny even even though I only budgeted 0 initially for the head unit. Bluetooth for the two audio and mobile phone are very clear and syncing is really simple. . I’m using the GPS, HDTuner and External Mic. I’m streaming Pandora from my BlackBerry and also have a USB drive in the glove box loaded with 4 GB of audio. Configuration of the settings was very straight forward. . . There are two issues that I am functioning on: 1) Nav audio would seem muted even though the audio setting is turned up all the way and 2) The head unit dimmer does not appear to integrate with my truck even however there is a wire for dimming. Installation took about 3 hrs in my 2008 Tacoma. I also installed the Steering Wheel Controls and a SW Relay. Audio is clear, it switches among features seamlessly and the touch screen is extremely practical
