I am in the process of making a positive career change and no one is supportive of me. I am currently unemployed, I used to work in hospitality and it never was my passion now I want to do what I love, a good friend of mine believes I should side track and look for retail work and my mum in current weeks did not want to support me going to up north, now she has completely put her foot down and stated that I have to look for work in our current city (retail work which will kill my spirit), my career change is up north about an 1 hr away from my current location, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of jobs more than what is available here in my current city.

I’m over 18 (please do not give me any nonesense, I am trying to make my own way in the world, so I can save up and be independent – I would not be asking this question in the first place) I am going to keep following the career path that I selected and not “defy” what they state as such, but continuing to live the life that I want, however I am finding this a great challenge as I am living under the same roof as mum and she is kind of like my own personal gps system, she knows where I go each single moment of each single day and I have no idea how I am going to get out of the front, let along pursue what I love.

What do I do? I need to live my own life, I cannot stay with friends or family as I do not have any, and my good friend has such a busy lifestyle that I can not stay with her and my ideal friend lives in the total opposite direction from where I am currently looking for work and it will require a plane to travel to and from (def no possible)

If anyone has been in the same boat, where no one seems to believe in you, and that trying to follow your dream has or is happening/happened, please let me know.
