Answer by Tomsriv
I looked into this a couple of years ago. I desired to construct my own Lojack, so to speak. It appears that the common GPS receivers are cheap, but something that sends out a GPS signal expenses about $ 500. So the 6-700 that Lojack charges is rather reasonable offered the price of the technologies.

If you just want to track where somebody is going then yes you can use a handheld gps and appear at it when you the auto comes back. You would will need one with some sort of external antenna due to the fact in the trunk will not perform.

Answer by hotdogseeksbun
So you want to preserve an eye on the tiny lady? What you will need is a gps w/antennae. The unit can be mounted out of view with the antennae sticking out. The gps signal can go via glass but not steel, trunk, hood and so on. The antennae wants a clear view of the sky to work best.Possibly beneath the hood by the grill will operate?Grills are mostly plastic nowadays.
Content SNOOPING!!!!

Answer by ScarMan
call the NSA and tell them to remove it.

Question by Doc:
How do I find a gps tracker on my auto?
I won’t go into the soap opera but I have a gps tracking device on my car and I want to turn it over to the police. This is my car and I am an adult. I really would appreciate some advice.

I’ve been told the tracker emits a signal that can be detected with a divice. Another was to walk around my car with a AM/FM radio with dial all the way to the top so there is static and when static changes rythmically, bingo! Finally, I was told that it is the size of a pack of gum and can only be found by sight.

Do any of these suggestions hold water? Your suggestion for finding? Are there preferred places these things are located?

thanks for the help.

——————————————

Answer by normal1
Go to a shop that supplies private detectives and ask them how to detect it or take your car to an experienced mechanic for that brand and ask him what doesn’t belong there.

——————————————
