GPS AUTO TRACKING?

I am looking for a handheld GPS that I can throw anywhere in my automobile (even the trunk). I have heard of products that go under the automobile (not interested). I know from experience several years ago that you need a clear (or nearly clear) field of view. Now I hear of devices that contridict this theory. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am opening a used automobile lot with purchase here pay here, and I would like to know the cost of a gps system to track automobiles for repo. Also is it possible for the system to immoblize the vehicle? What about monthly fees?
HOW DO I DISABLE MY AUTO TRACKING DEVICE?

I recently bought a used automobile that has a gps tracking and disable device wired into it from the previous owner. I would like to remove it or disable it since I do not want someone to be able to gain contro of the car.
