how can i hook my vehicle up with its very own GPS tracking?
1st off, i do not very own an iPhone 4, and i am not going to purchase iPhone 4′s for my automobiles. that is all i retain seeing on Google. I am residing overseas and moving back to the US soon. Honestly, existence overseas is great for someone that enjoys his/her auto. You could virtually have an SUV on 28 inch wheels, left unlocked at the film theater, and no a single would steal it. If its hot out, and you want to run in the store, leave your windows down, and nothing at all happens. But in the US, I know its a different story.

I’m interested in hooking my auto up with some sort of GPS transmitter. I have an android phone (even now, not buying a bunch of androids to hook up in my automobile) and when i park my vehicle somewhere, i quickly search for myself on Google Latitude, locate myself, and place a *star* on that spot. when i’m all set to leave, if i’m down the street a very good distance, i can locate back streets back to my vehicle, or shorter routes. but i want a way to track my automobile, if its not with me. something i could find out how to do, and excellent while i’m here, so when i go back to the US, i could set up with much less of a difficulty. I just want to track the auto, for now. i do not want to worry about obtaining diagnostics, disabling the battery or anything at all else that I “could” possibly accomplish. just tracking wherever it is. Utilizing Google Latitude or a similar system is some thing i would be shooting for. I am going to carry on looking into it, but if you have any understanding in the field, i would appreciate the support.

**Note: if you have no information in the matter, i do not care about your private opinion. and the same goes for what you believe is possible. if you have not carried out it, its just not feasible for you.

**Note: i am aware not everywhere in the US is poor for auto theft, and i know there are locations in the planet wherever its worse. i’m just stating that fact that it transpires. i don’t care to hear about your emotions on my opinions of the US. Go inform your wife/sister about it.

The spark Nano will run for about 5 days until finally the battery runs out, Unless it has been linked to a power supply that runs off of the car energy. Then, every single time you start off the vehicle, it will recharge.

Given that it is so little, it could be found anywhere in the vehicle. Under the hood, concealed in a waterproof container under the auto, etc.

You will probably need to find a person with a portable spectrum analyzer with a highly directional antenna to narrow down the location.

Wow, ok. Just located this out from my friend. His girlfriend purchased a vehicle with a tracking device. Her payment was due on a friday, but she couldnt get to the financial institution until saturday…so she named the dealership and expalined the predicament. They told her she was not telling the truth because it showed in the system that her vehicle was parked at a financial institution on friday. But my friend used the automobile friday. Anyway, what Im asking is it legal for them to track every single move like that

Laws about tracking systems vary from state to state but the finance organization would be properly aware of the laws governing the state the vehicle is in. You need to have to verify with local jurisdictions on that issue.

I am certain there are issues like you are suggesting, even so you can spot a chip anywhere on or in a automobile and use it to track the car. Even though it could be regarded as as a violation of privacy, unless of course you are performing something illegal, you genuinely possibly have practically nothing to worry about.
