GPS Tracking Via Cell Phone?
Question by druidicgoth:
GPS Tracking Via Cell Phone?
I read that you can get software and track people where they go where they are right down to the actually street they are on, using a cell phone signal and some software. Anyone know if this is true? Or perhaps the name of the softare needed to do it? It sounds really interesting.

if the phone doesn’t have a gps receiver built in, there is no way to track to the street level.

This can triangle your position, but I doubt any software for the phone can beam this information back out.

My Sprint phone has GPS. Anyone on my plan can locate me within 100 yards using their Family Locator service. I have used it on my daughters’ phone – it really helps when she’s late coming home. Only those on the plan can do the search except for 911.

ive heard of it – but it is mostly used for tracking of stolen cars – or police tracking missing people
