Could be anywhere. If you are worried about being tracked, then all you need to do is purchase a GPS jammer. GPS jammers start around $70. If I were to purchase a jammer, I would pay a little extra (about $130) and get a multi-jammer that could jam GPS and cell phone signals, which can also be tracked. Take a look at the links below.

Front or back bumpers, in the dash board, there is not a GPS that can get signal through metal so the father into the car you put it the harder it will be to get signal. you’ll know if its something that dosent fit with in the car it will stick out or not belong.
