Can LoJack in my car be accessed by police whenever they want under the Patriot Act?
The Patriot Act has done more damage to out Constitutional rights to privacy and freedom than we realize. Privacy has to do with respect for citizens as well. Just curious to know if anyone really cares. Can we be tracked electronically through the LoJack (if installed) that came with the car at the whim of law enforcement. What is the potential for abuse of our cell phones (GPS) and devices that are supposed to be protecting our information? Are we paying for our own electronic jail cells?

Can? yes. Is? no
Local cops cannot. LoJack will not release the number of the locator so it can be activated without a court order or, of course, if the cars VIN is entered into NCIC as stolen.
When the G wants to track you they install their own system(s).
Last time I had a case that involved the G and their locator system (back in the early 90′s) they got a more exact location whenever they wanted in seconds. I cannot imagine how efficient it is now
Lojack does not work the same way or as efficiently.
The G guys installed their system(s) on targets cars in about 2 minutes without the targets ever guessing that the stuff was in place.
