My cell phone was stolen, any tips for tracking it down?
My new samsung eternity was stolen and I already deactivated the account from at&t. If the jerk who stole it switched the sim card, would the number remain the same. Also, does anyone know a way that i could track its GPS??

The phone should be disabled. Forget tracking it, ATT will not bother. Sad but at least the piece of crap cannot use the phone.

you cant track it, thats the thing with sim card phones you can easily switch the sim cards. Your number will not be attached to the phone specially if the sim card is taken out but you contacts would be on it.

no if they switch the sim card, the number will change to the sim card they put in. also i don’t think there is a way to track the GPS im sure they turned it off or something.

Unfortunately the phone can not be tracked. Once you suspend the phone all it does is suspend the sim card. The imei is red flagged in at&t’s system and what that does is if someone tries to activate the phone on at&t’s network it will be blocked. Now if they get a 3rd party to unlock the phone they can use it on another carriers service and nothing can be done. What matters is the sim card with at&t and that is all they deactivate so your bill is not ran up. If you have insurance then you can pay the deductible and have the phone replaced other than that you will need to get it replaced by other means. Sorry for the loss, I know it sucks.

The number wouldn’t be the same because if the person who stole it switched the SIM Card, it would be his number on that Card.
