AHHH CELL PHONE TRACKING?
I just got a new phone and was supper excited till a message popped up on my screen saying basically that my parents could track me through me phone.
I’m no perfect teenager and I do things I shouldn’t always do, that often involve me saying I am someplace different there where I really am. So I am screwed now.
How can I get around this, I could turn off my phone, but that would be pretty obvious. Help me please? If you have this on your phone, what are your ways of getting around it?
They cannot read the stuff on my phone, just a GPS signal is sent out and my parents can find out where I am from that.
I figure I can leave my phone in my locker when I want to ditch so it seems like I am still at school, but other than that I am lost.

oh wow… that’s kinda freaky! i feel bad for you! when you go to school or whatever, tell your friends that they can read your text messages and tell them not to say anything that would get you in trouble! that’s what i would do! Hope i helped!

I am not a pro at cell phones but I think the extent of that is they can see what you do (what numbers you call, what numbers you text, who you send IM’s to, who you send MMS messages to, how long you spend on the internet, etc). As far as I know there is no plan, in the US, that lets you see the exact message contents. What plan do you have?
* Oh now I see what you mean – sorry. I thought they meant it tracks your messages. This should teach you to always check in with your parents. If you are not allowed at that place chances are it isn’t safe for you to be there. Just tell your friends you are busy if you feel “uncool” for not tagging along.
I’m a teen too so I am not going to tell you what you want to hear – just what you should do so your parents will be proud of you and you will always have their trust and in turn get loads of privileges you will enjoy (like being trusted to go to the “bad” places and do good things). I promise because I have lived it.

Accidentally Leave your phone at home. Or do what you’re told and you won’t have to worry. Facebook? Myspace?
Edit: Actually google to see if you can take the GPS out.

Just try and do what you are supposed to do.

That sucks.
I don’t think there’s a way around it. You could leave your phone someplace where you’re supposed to be so they think you’re someplace you’re not…. but that’s a horrible idea because it would get stolen.
Sooo I guess you’re screwed. Just only go places you’re supposed to go.

Seems like a bad deal until you get kidnapped and your parents and police can find you in minutes by tracking your phone.
Just deal with it.

Um, try telling the truth. They have a right to know where you are – for your safety as well as just because they are your parents.

Don’t leave your phone someplace so they can’t find you. If you do that and there is some kind of problem and you need to call somebody, you won’t have your phone and you’ll really be missing it. You need your phone so you can make calls in emergencies, and leaving it behind kind of defeats the point. Sit down with your parents and talk to them about this. Try to get them to trust you enough that they don’t need the tracker.
