Stolen Blackberry Bold 9000 phone tracking?
BACKGROUND
Well I had a Blackberry Bold 9000 laying around since I got an iPhone.(cause blackberry data plans cost a lot) And my good-friend asked to borrow the phone for awhile.I thought about it and finally decided to let him borrow it. After a month, I ask for my blackberry back, and it turns out that my good friend traded it to one of my ok-friends for an x-box. So then I ask my ok-friend for the phone, and he claims that someone has stolen it.(I believe someone stole it, or he’s lying to keep the phone) Since someone stole the phone, he said he will give me the x-box, but i rather prefer the phone because it cost me way more than a cheap x-box.
As of right now I know, my ok-friend has canceled his old phone number and got a new phone with the same number as before.
QUESTION / SITUATION
My blackberry bold had GPS capabilities, but I never set it up cause it cost too much. I was wondering if I could somehow track the phone through GPS and AT&T even though I didn’t set up the GPS, and there’s no working sim card in the phone. If so how, and how much would it cost? If not, do you have any other suggestions for finding the phone?

I’m sorry, you definitely cannot set up the GPS after the phone has already been set up for it. The phone needs a special chip, im sorry, i dont know the exact term, in order to be tracked. I think it sounds a little fishy that your “OK-friend” lost the phone by the time you asked for it. He was probably just excited that your good friend took the deal and got ripped off without realizing it. I would confront him. It is technically your phone and you have the right to get it back. Don’t be too bummed, you still have an iPhone.
