My company provides me with a Palm Pre phone. I have seen promotions by Sprint for software that tracks the phone holder very closely by location. I keep the GPS function on my phone disabled, but does that tracking software work even if the GPS is turned off?

I ask this because a friend was attacked, and robbed. The attacker(s) had taken his cell phone. Is there a way to track the cell phone assuming he did not have any GPS services or anything like that? Also considering the police would track it so they would have any resource available. [...]

My new samsung eternity was stolen and I already deactivated the account from at&t. If the jerk who stole it switched the sim card, would the number remain the same. Also, does anyone know a way that i could track its GPS??
