Would you put a GPS tracking system in your teens car?
I have a 16 year old son who is taking driver’s training. He is a good kid and will get his license soon.
I sell and install the units for different companies but am reluctant to put one in my own kid’s car.

yes becuae it can come in handy when he gets lost or soemthing. It’s not tracking him 24/7 it’s just making sure he’s being safe.

It depends…. since he is a teen, maybe. So you can know where they go. Just encase they go somewhere where they shouldn’t….

No. Too Smoothering. Trust your children and make sure they have a phone for emergencies.

If I’m payin for the gas, insurance, car note, of course I’m goin to need to know where my loved one is located.

No. The only way I would give my kid his own car is if he has proved to me that he’s trust-worthy. And has shown that he can make right decisions when needed.

yes I would. But make this clear…this is for safety reasons, not so I could check up on him at any given moment.

you dont have to, but if you tell him its there, it might deter some unwelcom behaviors.

In this day and age, I would do the same thing. But you should TELL your son that the device is going to be there. Just knowing that you can find out where he is will be deterrent enough to goof off.

no because your child has not given you any trouble it seems. do not ever pass the trust boundaries if he has not given you any reason to.

YES! What a fantastic idea! He may view it as an invasion of privacy, but I think it would be a great safety feature.

Yes I would. No matter how good and responsible your child is things happen.
If he is on his way home and has an accident and his car can’t be seen from the road and he is unable to call. Then GPS could pin point his location, making locating him quicker and his chances for survival greater.

I think it is a good idea as long as you, as a parent, dont abuse it. It would be ok to use it if he is late getting home or if he isnt answering your calls or something, but I wouldnt suggest using it to follow his every move . You need to show him that you trust him and that the GPS is for emergencies only.

I would just incase he gets lost or the car gets stolden. I think it would be wrong to use it to see where he is going all the time unless he is a bad kid.I would just use it for saftey reason’s there are a lot of freaks out there

I’m 18, and I wish that my parents
had installed a GPS in my car.
They come in handy.
& I know this is going to
sound really weird coming
from a teenager, but if
you want to know where
he is, some models come
with a tracking device.
Good luck to your son!

I would put one in. You cannot protect your kids too much.
