Is it possible to have a tracking chip in your car?
I have a gps in my car, and my dad claims that there’s a tracking chip installed in the car in order for it to work, and that he could look up where i am/where i went online. is this possible? also, where could i find the tracking chip? is it possible to deactivate it or something?
thanks in advance

There are various ways to track a car using a GPS, but most require some transmission of the position to some receiving station.
Another option is that one can track the gps movements in some device in the car itself, and retrieve it later.
If nothing if plugged into the GPS itself, the only thing that knows where you’ve been is the GPS itself. Turn it off….

There’s no actual tracking chip, but there is a tracking chip that’s in reverse…
Although you probably thought that was pretty obvious.
