Is there a way to disable or uninstall the GPS chip that is tracking my financed car?
i bought a car on financing in canada that has GPS that can actually shut off the car and track it wherever i go. i find this an invasion of privacy. I received a remote to enter codes (such as 999 9999 when the car turns off so I have 24 hours to move it..)
can i install this, anyway around this? i don’t like it.
thanks

No because it is used by law enforcement to find stolen cars and cannot be tampered with.
V Dude down there, All GPS are used to locate stolen vehicles, and you may void any warranty by tampering with the device. That is all I am saying.

The GPS is connected straight to your OBD2 connector that is located directly under the steering wheel. It looks like a plug for a nintendo. I know that you can disconnect it but as far as the vehicle running it just depends on how they wired it to your ECU / ignition system. Don’t listen to agent he is talking about lo jack. Not a financial institutions system to track down/recover their assets/vehicles.
